I'm really into movies about Knights/King Arthur/medevil times, and would like some suggestions on good dvds. I already have King Arthur, Monty Python (Holy Grail), Gladiator, First Knight...Got any more?

    Hi,

Well not exactly related but Indiana Jones and the Last Cruzade sorta fits in

Other than that I guess you covered the basics there

So easy, I was going to say that.

Lord of the Rings might fit into the category. Probably any of the Robin Hood movies (Men in Tights is great).

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

  7. The Italians made the best "sword & sandal" epics
    but for medieval stuff see:

Flesh and Blood - my favorite
Merlin (the New Zealand mini series) - excellent!!!!
    Robbin Hood (various)

    Quest of the Delta Knights
The Battle of the Dark Knights
    Magic Knight Rayearth
Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog
    Aleksandr Nevskiy
    Crystalis
    Gawain and the Green Knight
    George and the Dragon
    The Magic Sword
    The Twelve Quests
    Siege of the Saxons
The Sword in the Stone - another "Arthur tale"

    Willow - adventure/comedy
    Black Knight - comedy
Up the Chastity Belt - comedy
    Jabberwocky - monty python

Not about knights but more Viking related
is The 13th Warrior which is a good flick if
    you like battle and adventure.

The best ones have already been mentioned I think. See Excalibur and Gawain and the Green Knight first, IMO. If you know what's good for you, you'll skip a Knight's Tale.

Also if you don't mind the singing you might try Camelot.

    Troy

Spartacus 1960, Stanley Kubrick directed this epic saga based on ancient historical events when a vagabond slave-army led by an ex-gladiator, Spartacus (Kirk Douglas), threatened the very sovereignty of Rome.

Spartacus (2-Disc Series) (2004) Goran Visnjic stars as the titular gladiator in this made-for-TV miniseries (adapted from the same 1951 Howard Fast novel that spawned Stanley Kubrick's 1960 film classic). Living as a slave in ... This was on the "USA NETWORK" made for TV.

    "Joan of Arc"

    Cleopatra

Helen of Troy. made for TV I think

    Druids

    Attila

I found most of these from doing a search on netflix for Spartacus and came up with the rest.

Might want to try netflix and BlockBuster on like and Amazon for more ideas.

Ah!!! Thee good ole days, when knights where bold and dragons filled the air! Great subject matter when it comes to movies! "Excalibur!" was my first thought too! I don't think that you can make a bad movie about knights and the likes of medevil. I just got back from the Georgia Rennesance Festival. (SP) I have been going to it for almost 20 years. It is mostly comedy but it does have a pretty good joust! (twice I have seen knights leave on a stretcher!) The wenches are fun to look at too! (As long as the Queen of my castel doesn't catch me!)

What is your favorite Movie about knights would make a good poll!

    13th warrior=great flick too Offline!

    Like I said I can't think of a bad knight/medevil movie!
IS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT?
