    well have just started using sony vegas 4.0e for conversion added some effects and wanted 2 convert the file to avi.instead of file size gettin reduced it increased 5 times.well iss it a codec selection problem or what?any tutorial links or ebook links on vegas will also do

    Yes it is,You are saving Uncompressed AVI,try Huffy,even XVID, what is your end goal for this video DVD? Save as MPeg2.
