  1. i made a vcd (many actually for trial & error) which has two levels of menus.

    - SthSDVD will play one menu selection fine, but under the second menu no selections appear

    - I-Video CD Player crashes immediately as I put the CD in

    - PowerDVD plays exactly as it should.

    > now since SthSDVD and I-Video are freeware - is the problem with these pieces of software ?

    > has anyone else had difficulties playind VCD's with them ?

    > does anyone know a freeware vcd player that can handle menus ?

    > why am i asking for fee programs when i have powerdvd ? - because i need to bundle the player with the vcd, so people who dont have a vcd player can also enjoy the videos.

    thanks

    * no i cant play the DAT files in media player becasue there are multiple sequences - thats why there is a menu in the first place !

  2. Why do you bother with vcd if you're playing them on the computer anyway? Just a thought.

  3. Well the thing is, it is a mixed audience that is going to watch. so some have DVD players some dont.

  4. which version of powerdvd? got one here but that doesn't automatically play vcd's, i gotta' point it to the mpeg files by hand...

i'm looking for a piece of similar software for my parents pc (which is just a p225mmx, so way too little processing power) but it did perform surprisingly well playing all sorts of avi's... no vcd's yet

... this copy of me hasn't been registered for the last 36 years! (no spamming please)
