I recorded a movie from TV using LiteOn 5005. I put it on my harddrive using DVD Decrypter in File mode. I open VobBlanker 2.0.0.1 and when I go to the VIDEO_TS.IFO folder and click open I get the message
Error: Cell not found
So I then tried version 1.6.0.6 and it ill open the folder and show 2 titlesets
1-VIDEO_TS. VOB which is 160 KB and
2- VTS_01_*.VOB which is 3876 MB
I click on the second one and 4 entries show up below and when I click on the first one, which is the movie, I then click Prev/Cut. But no matter what cell I click on to remove content I get the following:
"The selected GOP is an open one so if this mark is the init of the playback, the first picture can not be properly decoded, so VobBlanker will mark it as a broken GOP. Do you want to continue?"
The movie is rated PG but yet it has some adult nudity that I am trying to remove to make it more child friendly.
I have looked at the guides, but I still can't figure out what I am doing wrong. Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

I don't think that you can accomplish what you are trying to do with VOBblanker, because you will delete more than just a selected scene, probably an entire section, could be 20 minutes or longer depending on the length of your show. A suggestion would be to use dvd shrink in reauthor mode and manually cut the parts out that you don't want. You would have to keep adding the same titlesets each time and just keep setting that starting point accordingly. I have done this with a childs video, to fill up space on the DVD,so I know that you can open the same titleset multiple times, but you are in for a long night!
You might be better off by converting the entire DVD to an AVI and opening it in a video editing program, cut out the offensive scenes and reauthoring it. It sounds troublesome, but it really isn't, and I can't think of a better solution, but I am sure that someone else here can.
I don't know if this matters, but did you copy the DVD onto your Harddrive or are you trying to rip it directly in VOBblanker? If you haven't done so already, try ripping it first with DVDdecrypter.
Good luck! -
Try to open it with TMPGMpegEditor, it supports dvd recoderd with a standalone dvd recorder. Cut the unneeded parts and it will output a new mpg file ready to be authored with any DVD authoring application.
PS: if your audio is AC3, you will need the AC3 Plugin to be able to process/open the sound. -
Thank you jetfan and cd090580 for the suggestions. I tried jetfan's idea using DVD Shrink and it did what I needed.
Thanks to you both for taking the time of offer some ideas! -
Great news! You are very welcome for the assistance, after all, isn't that the purpose for this site?
