Hey guys, I just have a quick question and was looking for your advice. I have recently purchased a Hitachi DVD Cam which records in MPEG format. I then upload these file to my hard drive. No problem so far....
My problem is that my stand alone DVD player has died (PIONEER) so I replaced it with a newer and better TEAC. Now the menus created by SonicMYDVD wont work. Sonic MYDYD software came with the camera. The menus load fine, just the buttons don't work so I can't look at my movies.
Is there any other (simple to use) software you can recomend that would let me make menus from my MPEG files that my new DVD player might recognise and let me use?
There doesn't seem to be any setting adjustments on the DVD player that I know of to enable me to keep using the software I already have but I don't really know what I am looking for anyway.
    Any help would be appreciated.Thanks.

Like you I had troubles with Sonic. Even if it had worked properly I still hated it. TMPGEnc DVD Author is pretty much the standard. (NOTE: you might also have to purchase the AC3 plug-in.) TDA works well for simple stuff. I also use Ulead DVD Workshop 2, but it's kind of expensive. DVD Lab is also highly reccomended. I believe all three have free downloads for trial purposes.

Here's the link to the authoring software (under tools). You can compare the programs for yourself and read some of the comments made by others. IMO, most of he DVD software out there is crap.

    Good Luck!
