I am now trying WINDVD, it has a option to capture dv to dvd(or at least to the hard drive) I am able to get a pic but no audio, if I get audio it is super sped up, I am loosing my mind! if anyone has this please help me out as best u can

one more thing, I have MGI video wave 4. with this I can get audio and video but I dont know how to then get it to where I want to burn it.
If I could get one of the other programs I have like WMM to work or win dvd it would be much better. thanks -
Well, two things:
First, you've got to encode your DV video to MPEG2. I don't know if WINDVD does this (I thought that it was only a player).
Secondly, you need to either capture your original audio at 16 bit 48ksps, or you need to resample your existing audio to that format. You can also encode your audio to a compressed format, like MP2 or AC3, which will make for a much smaller file (stick to .AC3, if you have this). Your audio sounds funny because your capture and playback sample rates are much different.ICBM target coordinates:

If you have a DV camcorder, it should have an IEEE1394 (aka Firewire, i-Link) connection. Use that and you will TRANSFER digital data from your tape to your hard drive. If you are trying to use S-Video or composite (yellow, red, white) you are doing an analogue capture which is far more prone to error.
