You will need a video capture card. Look to the left under Capture Cards to see a large list. You can get an older ATI AIW card for around 50.00 US.

If you have a firewire connection on your computer, just conect. Then use Pinnacle to capture the footage.
Dont think you need a capture card. Pinnacle 9 has DV capture ability (at least pretty sure). May even be able to capture directly to mpeg2/DVD format. -
DVWannaB- I think he wants to go from VHS to his PC. According to him his camcorder doesn't have the needed inputs to do this. So he will need a capture card of some form. Mr twonk, please correct me if I'm wrong.
Here's the first card I used. On Ebay for 50.00.

Ok, yeah, just re-read. The DV cam thing threw me off.
Well he could sell his DV cam on ebay and use that money for a new DV cam with video in and dv out. Then he could do what I suggested above

As long as you have the connections for the RCA cables(yellow, white and red cables) to the camcorder or to a capture card. You should be able to capture the tapes.

Well yes. Just connect your vhs vcr using red, white, yellow or Svideo cable if available to a video capture card/device. I would make sure to get a video card/device, that is compatible with Pinnacle 9, so you dont have to lay out more $$$s for capture software (although some cards come with capture software).Originally Posted by mr twonk
