As for DVD2OneX and Popcorn, I would say in most cases that one will not notice any difference in compression quality. DTOX does give more options, but Popcorn can burn and is much easier to use.
Popcorn has been getting much higher reviews then DTOX recently also because it is cheaper. -
Macworld review - they choose Popcorn.

However, Popcorn 1.0.2 is at least 20% faster then Popcorn 1.0.1 so I would say that Popcorn and DTOX are about the same speed now. -
are there any major features popcorn is missing from dtox?
can you take out audio tracks w/popcorn? [and subtitles]
how about taking out various chapters? -

I did a full disc copy w/ Popcorn of a TV show--only two eps on the disc--and they were jerky and unwatchable.
DTOX was lovely as always. -
820am - Just to let you know this reportedly is fixed in version 1.02: "Resolves an issue with stuttering playback on some set-top DVD players."

Re: jerky playback. Popcorn 1.0.2 version history says:
• Resolves an issue with stuttering playback on some set-top DVD players. -
it seems that popcorn's advantange is it's simplicity and burning integration ..... but the thing is, if it lacks even slight quality w/dtox, I'd rather do it the mtr/dtox/toast way ...... :X

any additional comments on the quality and speed of popcorn [in comparison to dtox]?
