    A nearly full disc takes about a minute to finalize. A nearly empty disc takes 6 minutes to finalize. This is DVD-RW. Why does a nearly empty disc take so much longer?

    You must write 1GB of data for DVD-Video spec.
    This can be video data, or it can be a huge lead-out.
