  1. I have a movie that is about 3 gigs insize, once convert over to vobs. nero will not let me burn the vob larger than 2gigs, and the dvd will not play with 2 seperate vob files. I am using Dvd lab pro, and i want to make the movie complete. I have done many things. and none of them have worked. I was wonder what do i do to get 2 seperate files to play the whole movie seemlessly and how how i do it with the connection.

Does the DVD look good playing it from the VIDEO_TS folder?...Is it ready to burn?

If it is, you can download IMGtools Classic and create an Image file and burn it with DVD Decrypter.

What did you use to create the vob files. It has not been authored, as the authoring process makes compliant vobs, which can be no larger than 1gb each. You need to read up on the correct way to author a DVD. See the guides section on the left - there are many useful ones to start with.

  4. I use WinAvi to make the video . It wont let me copy any files largeer than 2 gigs. So i split the files while i am encoding it to Vobs. I can split them to be under one gig each , but i still need a good way to link the videos togeather so they can play stright thru. I have made many dvds with many files i have put 10 30 mins videos on them before and they have worked but now i am doing one video that is almost 3 gigs insize after encoding

  5. Ok . I got the file down 1.7 gigs(i did that once before , but it was in 16:9 format only, i burn it and it worked, It only fitted my wide screen Tv) What i did the first time that worked on my dvd play was i encoded the file from avi-to Vob(one file) Then i went into nero and burned it and it worked
Now I have been tring to put in menu's and make it bigger for better quality
I split the files into 2 about 1.4 gig each file vts 1 and VTs1-2. Complied it Dvd lab pro. it didn't work in the dvd player, Then i tired to burn the files in nero with menus . Didn't work. Then i Re encoded the file in to smaller quality again back to 1.7 gigs, I complied it in Dvd lab pro. I burned didn't work . Then i open up Dvd shrink(it worked but it had my menu and another menu that was scrambled(dunno where this menu came from because i only made one menu) but i reauther it in DVD shrink just for testing, didn't work on my DVd player. All these Dvd i have made work in WMP just fine liek a dvd movie would

I think you need to start from the beginning, as you are going around in circles and getting nowhere.

You don't need vobs to create a DVD. You get vobs by correctly autrhoring a DVD. What you need is your movie encoded as a compliant mpeg video file, and a compliant audio file.

So lets go back to the very start. Forget everyhting you have done so far. Call it a learning experience.

    Your source file.

Tell us what it is - Xvid, Divx, DV etc.

Then we can tell you how to go from there.

  7. Ok For all my other DVD i have made have all been Xvid, and The movie i am making is Xvid as well. They only differance is i upgraded to DVD Lab pro. Could that be a reason why it isn't working ? I don't think so I have started over many times. I'll going to reburn a DVD files i know work, All my Vob files have worked in DVD Shrink

How do you go from avi to vob ? DVD Lab won't take avi files, it needs to have encoded mpeg files.

  9. I use WinAVi from Avi to Vob , and it does a great job i used about 10 different encoder trial version , and freeware and Winavi by far was the best . Even btter than Tmpge i used to use when i made svcd. Well I did 16:9 in my encoding this time instead of auto. I burned the the vile before i did DVD LAb pro and it worked. That is weird to me. Last time i did that i would only get the correct size on my wide screen , not on any other of my Tv's right now it is late so i can't test it on another TV till tomarrow
