    Is that possible ???

    MITSUBISHI KAGAKU MEDIA DVD-R 8X
I run the test with DVDInfo and DVD Identifier and I got
    - Manufacturer Name : Taiyo Yuden (Corp)
    - Manufacturer ID : TYG02

So does it means this DVD-R is a fake ???

  2. It's certainly possible that it's fake. Depending on what brand your burner is, you may be able to do PI/PO tests on your discs. TY almost always has very low PI/PO errors, and fakes will have much worse PI/PO numbers. Also, TY media has serial numbers or something similar stamped on the inner part of the discs, I know that there are some photos of what they look like in a thread on here somewhere.

I'm not that familiar with MCC media, although I thought they only used their own media...

Verbatim Datalife Pastel discs, sold in the European market, are genuine TY discs. I can't say I've heard of any Mitsubishi-branded discs being TY, but it's certainly possible.

Well, the fact that Verbatim uses other Media code cannot be helped, since Verbatim doesn't have its own media code.
But Mitsubishi has its own, just like Ritek, so i just want to confirm if anyone has ever seen any Mitsubishi branded DVD-R with media code other than MCC.

  5. Verbatim is a subsidy of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, also known as Mitsubishi Kagaku Media.
