  1. I typically convert all of my movies from SVCD format to Low Res DVD format (basically 29.97 fps VCD w/ 48khz audio) in TMPGenc - both video and audio with ssrc plugin to do the sample rate conversion... I can burn 4 movies to one DVD this way. (I do this because I am cheap and don't want to use up discs.)

Well, anytime I run across a PAL SVCD I usually just plug it into TMPEnc like normal and the output mpeg works fine. I use the NTSC VCD template with the only change being the 48 khz sample rate conversion. This usually works fine, but on occasion one of the output mpeg's will have a slight audio sync problem... not too often, but it happens. Can someone give me another method to make this conversion?

I am going to continue to process most movies like normal because it is easy and fast, but I was wondering if there is another full proof method that I can use for problem movies.

    Thanks
    Brian

DVD Lab will allow you to author SVCDs to DVD. It will transcode the audio to compliance and save you reencoding to an even lower quality. Can't guarantee total compliance, but many player accept it.
