I copied a bunch of VCDs onto a DVD. i.e. popped in the VCD in the PC, dragged and dropped the various folders onto the DVD, preserving each top level folder as each VCD i.e. VCD1, VCD2 with all the original VCD folders under it.

I used VCD Easy to convert each .DAT file from the VCD into a MPEG file.

This MPEG1 file plays fine on the PC, but it doesnt play at all on my Prismiq Media Player which is supposed to play MPEG1 files.

AVICodec says the MPG files are fine.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

use vcdgear (it's FREE!) to "extract" the video files from your VCD
drop the extracted mpg files into your favorite DVD authoring program (I like TMPGEnc DVD Author)
it's relatively quick & easy and I know it works perfectly because I converted my entire VCD library to DVD using this method
