  1. Hi

been using SVCD2DVD for a while with absolutely no problems but suddenly I get error "ffmpeg.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close we are sorry for the inconvenience", whenever I try to author a dvd, whatever titles I am using - tried to system restore to before problem but will not restore to that time.. was using version 2 number 8 and v 8 worked fine for a while till this started happening - tried updating to 9 but still have same problem - gone back to v1.5 now and that ok - presume because does not use ffmpeg
anyone have any idea why this is happening - don't think its a bug in the program as no-one else has encountered this prob - so must just be me - but anyone have any insight into the cause

  2. I had this problem a little while back. My issue was due to the FourCC (codec) code used in the AVI files I was trying to convert, so you might check that out.

Hmm, it's funny because just today I tried to produce a DVD from 2 .avi files. I kept getting the ffmpeg crash. The weird thing is, I loaded the same files in the latest version of Gui4ffmpeg and it processed them fine.
Then I loaded the .mpg files as assets and produced the DVD. It's no big deal since SVCD2DVD will accept the mpg files and I can create a menu and it just goes right to the DVD and Menu authoring. Just seems funny the ffmpeg would choke when called from one app and not from another.

Well different programs work ffmpeg in different ways. Have you got the logs from the S2D run and the gui... run to send me for comparison?

  7. No I didn't save 'em. Right now I'm a total newbie with AviSynth and I'm tryin' to figure out how to use it from gui4ffmpeg and I have a question posted there. So that's kind of my distraction of the moment. Sorry to gripe and run but I mainly posted in case the OP wanted to try various versions of ffmpeg just to get things done. Just sharing my experiences in case he might run into the same thing. Just sort of an aside I guess.
