  1. I have somthing in flash i would like to put onto a vcd. I have exported my flash to an avi file but when trying to encode it to a mpeg i get an error that says its the wrong window size. Any idea if this can be done, and if so what settings do i need?

  2. If you can select the frame size of your exported movie set it to 352x240. If not load the avi in virtualdub, resize to that and frameserve to TMPGEnc (there's a guide here on that)

  4. O.. i always wanted to but never know you can convert Flash to avi. Mind letting me know how do you do that??

  5. you need the original fla file with flash 4, 5, 6 whatever... unless they have some swf decompiling program. then there is the following option - SAVE AS AVI.

  6. When you said Original Fla File, which do you mean -- the animation file (.swf) or the Flash Player programme file?
I bet it's the latter, right? Checked out Macromedia's website just now. It doesn't say Flash Player can convert. Anyway, will get a copy later to check it out.. Definitely want to convert these Bruce Lee Flashes i've got in my HDD to add them to my VCD collection.

  7. if you are using someone's .swf animation, you need to open it up in Flash and export to AVI. if it has protection on it, there are programs to get rid of that. also if you only have the .exe, again there are programs to extract the .swf.

  8. Ok, i've got Flash, i opened someone's .swf animation & export it to avi uncompressed. But the avi has video but NO sound! Why? And how do i solve the problem? Pls.

FYI, the .swf animation file plays ok with no problem whatsoever.

When you're exporting the avi there should be a settings window. Make sure that sound isn't on Disabled.

  10. I tried but still could not get it. This is what i did:
    1. Launch Flash 5
    2. Import lee_01.swf
    3. Export movie.. to lee_01.avi (Windows AVI)
    <> Video format -- 16 bit color
    <> Compress video -- unchecked
    <> Smooth -- unchecked
    <> Sound format -- 44kHz 16 bit stereo
Result: The exported avi has video but NO audio.

I tried exporting to lee_01.wav (WAVE audio) 44kHz 16 bit stereo but the exported wav file has NO sound.

FYI, the imported swf when played in Flash 5 has video but NO audio. The swf when played using the standalone player that comes with Flash 5 has both video & audio.

This is my test swf file (218KB) in case you want to try out yourself -- http://shell.ipoline.com/~wiceyto/misc/d_snack/movies/lee_01.swf
