I'm a proud owner of a Sharp Aquos LCD TV. There is a slot for PC card.
The manual says, a video has to be mpeg4 within an asf container.
I tried to convert a movie to wmv, which didn't work allthough they say asf and wmv are the same. Does anybody know, what the exact format must be and how toconvert from avi source?

It is most likely going to be a format created/used by digital cameras. I'm not sure if that is similar to the asf format used by computer video (although it should be). As most of the older cameras usually only capture video as 30 fps or less, low quality, and in 30 second or shorter segments, there are most likely limitations to the file size. Your manual should be able to supply more info...or try their website.

The manual just says: asf Format (in the manual and the pdf online doc).
I tried to record from the TV and the result was a little disappointing:360x240 30fps. But the file can be played on PC and TV.

It`s not a feature I really need anyway. I was just wandering.

And yes, it`s the same format, they use in their cameras.

  4. I would try Playing with the Encoding features of Quicktime Pro, Not the best but has worked for me.

I think that too. But format (resolution, framerate, bitrate...), that`s the question.
