Hi guys,
Are the TRV260 and TRV338 capable of transcoding my old vhs movies into digital using the pass through feature?

However, I believe that the TRV260 cannot directly play analog 8mm
or Hi-8 tapes to create firewire output. -
Yes. Connect your VCR to the camcorder for input and out via firewire to the computer. There probably shouldn't be a tape in the camcorder for the passthrough to work (that's how it is on my TRV230). On the computer you'll need a "capture" app like WinDV.
