Hi,
I am an XP Media Center Edition user, with Xbox extenders. Extenders only play MPEG or WMV video clips (no DIVX).
I want to rip all my DVDs to the Media Center hard disk, so that they are available to the extenders. Hence, I have to go from the DVD (VOBs) to WMV (to save some space, as I understand WMV takes less space).
One convenient way I came up with was to rip the DVDs with Gordian Knot, as it lets you specify two audio tracks (I live in a french-english country).
The step to go to AVI with dual-audio-tracks works just fine.
If I then try to go to WMV with WinAVI, I get a puzzling result : I tried converting the Lion King, and I got a WMV with very low sound.
I searched the web a little bit, and was told to increase the gain in AC3Filter, which I did.
Now, I get the music at the correct level, but I get a very-low-volume voice track. Also, both voice tracks are blended together !!!
My obvious questions are :
1- does WMV support dual audio tracks ?
2- how do I set up AC3Filter so that the voice track is at the same level as the music track ? Does it have anything to do with the sound card that I have installed, or is it independent ?
