I use TMPGenc plus and TDA for virtually of my projects but now i wish to upgrade the audio to DTS-and neither of these will recognise DTS.

What i have for my audio editing is the following: Belight (to give 6 mono wav's), Surcode DVD Pro DTS Encoder (6mono to one DTS) and DVD-Lab Pro ( to add separate audio & video streams to project).

My project is made up of 2 parts to one film. I can encode audio & video for each part with no problem. But HOW can i join these 2 files into ONE single and continuous film????-like what TDA would do when you just keep adding multiple files. I have looked everywhere on this site and also trawled through the help guides within DVD-Lab Pro but there is nothing there. Can someone please give me a link to this solution or alternatively recommend a program that will allow me to join multiple files with DTS into a continuous movie???

P.s I have tried to merge with TMPGenc and also VirtualDub but keep getting sync issues when done as a continual stream. I prefer to encode each part separately and then just merge together at authoring stage.

DVD Lab Pro doesn't edit or join like some other projects. It is designed on the assumption that you will have prepared your assets correctly before starting.

That said, there is a little mentioned function that might help. I haven't used it, just came across it in the help files one day and thought - I must remember that. Look up the help files for an object called movie segments. I think it will do what you need.

Please let me know if it does, as this request has come up a number of times.

Why do you need to "merge" them together? Are they at a logical break point (i.e. fade to/from black)?

You can keep them separate in DLP, but create a Title Playlist that will play both Titles (there might be a slight pause between Titles, but if they fade to/from black, it shouldn't be too noticeable).

Or is it important to have the display "running time" on the DVD Player as one long timecode?

    Thanks you guys.

    In response to your messages.

Ideally i want one long continual timecode and preferably without a second playlist. The reason i'm doing it this way is that when i've merged the files prior to DLP, i seem to suffer from sync issues when outputted. Yet when i encode separately and author (TDA) as multiple files into One, i get no such problems.

The key reason is the audio is now DTS. TDA cannot do DTS. When i join multiple files using V.Dub & TMPGenc, prior to encoding i seem to get a slight glitch at each join when i 'import asset' into DLP.

guns1inger:-thanks for the 'Movie Segment' tip. I'll look out for it and see what i can do. Will post if successful. Thanks alot guys.
