  1. I have 7 MPEG files that are each about 220-235MB and I want to be able to burn these to a DVDR but whenever I move them over to NERO to get ready to burn, each file becomes over 1GIG and I can only fit 4 of the files on the DVD, but I need all 7.

The quality is good on the files so is there a way for me to burn the files on the dvd without it becoming over 8GIGS so I can fit all 7 files on the disk and watch them on my DVD player?

Try using TMPGEnc DVD Author instead.

Sure. Check that your MPEGs aren't already dvd-compliant here. If they aren't, then you need to convert them so that they are - http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/AVI2DVD.htm should be able to help you out with that. Then author with your favorite authoring software and bob should be your uncle.

FYI, the problem is that Nero tries to transcode your material to DVD-compliant specs if your files are not already, so hence the reason it will only allow you to burn four to a disc. If you feed it DVD-compliant MPEGs, it won't behave so "irrationally"
    If in doubt, Google it.

YEs, use TMPG DVD Author to author the files and make menus. then shrink the results with DVD Shrink to fit on a DVD. May lose quality but you'll fit them all in there. OR Use DVDSanta to process to fit on one disc. Doesn't make menus though.

  5. Jim is right, your MPGs are not DVD compliant, so Nero is transcoding them. Nothing to do but to convert them to a valid DVD resolution.
Not sure what the size of these is now, but use a valid resolution close to that size. No sense in, for instance, re-encoding a 320x240 MPG at 720x480.
