I bought some of these blanks. I tried both of them using my Pioneer 108 and they both record at around 7 1/2 minutes each? What speed should I see? Should they record faster and in less trime? Should they record in 3 minutes?
Tonight I will remove the Pioneer 108 and install Pioneer 109 and Benq 1620 Pro. I hope I see faster recording times from these baby's. I appreciate again any comment. Thanks again to all at VideoHelp. Here I really get good advice thanks again.

I remember a post somewhere here that someone said that they recorded with the Pioneer 108 in 3 minutes with 16X media. Perhaps I should've follow more that thread and see if it was true, but when I had read that post, it was before I bought the Pioneer. Would you happen to know wht speed I should be seeing. Thanks again..

I think about 5min, 30secs is about the fastest you can burn with the BenQ (WOPC disabled). I'm not familiar with the Pioneer, but I assume it will be close to 6 minutes as well.
I'm not a speed freak as much as I am a stickler for quality burns......so I'm no expert on fast burning. 2 or 3 extra minutes saved is not worth it to me. -
thank you so much for the comment. So I shouln't complain for 6 minutes. What is (WOPC disabled)? I'm a rookie.

You can get 16x media to burn in 3 minutes if you keep your burns < 2gb....
Stands for Walking Optimal Power Control. It's a feature of the drive that adjusts laser power during the burn cycle. It's on by default to help with final burn quality. I think it affects the overall burn time a bit.
BenQ has a utility to turn WOPC off in it's Qsuite utility software. You can download it from here:
QSUITE Official Download
It's got book type management program, pre-scan media utility and other neat stuff. -Enjoy
