    Howdy,

I have some TV Episodes encoded with Divx. I want to convert them so I can burn them to DVD. I have the VSO DivxToDvd program and am having some issues.

I did the first episode and it worked just fine and created the VOB, IFO, and BUP files.

However when I tried the second one I get errors. I can view this one just fine in WMP and other viewers but just can't convert it.

If anyone has any ideas on what might be wrong, how I can fix it, or if I should use some other program to try the conversion, please let me know.

    Thanks!

Here's the log I get from the DivxToDvd Program.

Playback can be more forgiving of errors than encoding. I would run it through Divxfix and check for errors, then rebuild the index regardless of the outcome. You could also check for errors using virtualdub.

I scanned with DivxFix and it didn't find any errors. I did the rebuild and then tried DivxToDvd on the repaired file and it still didn't work.

I downloaded VirtualDub and am doing a CHeck Video for Errors but I'm not sure what this program does. heh.

Bump if anyone can help. If there's more info I can provide, please let me know. Tried VirtualDub and did a Save as AVI and it wanted 42 gigs of space so I don't know that I'm using that one right.

  5. have you tried any other progs like winavi or dvdsanta.
if nothings detecting errors, then one problem may be an older codec is used to make the original avi.
or you could even try it the long way round and check out the site here for a guide on doing the conversion to dvd manually.

You are not using the Virtualdub right.
You have to choose Direct Stream Copy under Video and Audio.
Read tutorials under Virtualdub section - it may be helpful to learn how to use it, now when you have encountered that problem with your mpeg4 file.
