Hi,
I have DV file which I want to compress to MPEG and store on my hdd in case I would like somewhere in the future cut few minutes of it and convert to xvid. But I'm having some weird problems.
MPEG file looks fine in media player, but it is little bit (just little) too light (overexposed is the word?) when I open it in Virtual Dub. I've heared that it maybe because media player uses directshow, and virtual dub uses video for windows. Is that the true reason? How can I cope with this problem?

I've just realised that different MPEG codecs give me different results.
Mainconcept Mpeg Encoder (probably with it's own codec) gives me videos with slightly changed colors (as menitoned in the previous post), but gives better quality of details.
I've also tried YMPEG trail and it gives me good colours but the video lacks some details.
What should I do? -
We can help if you can give some details. Please send detail here or write to support@<a class="contentlink" href="https://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=YMPEG" target...>ympeg</a>.com
