    Hi,
I was trying to use the delogo filter to remove some subtitles from a movie. I wanted to see how this filter worked. I tried this guide: https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?guideid=682#682 But its not really that great of a guide. I was wondering what to do once I load the video into virtualdub. I added the filter too. I just dont know what settings to use (ex: direct stream copy, full processing mode, etc) Also, how do I get this thing to work. Do I have to frameserve or just have virtualdub process the information. I was planning on using NVE 3 for the conversion from avi to DVD. Thanks.

  2. You need to frameserve, so doing direct stream copy or whatever won't work. Basically you need to create a mask for Delogo to know where to do it's thing and then output the result by frameserving.
Unfortunately in this instance, all Delogo will do to remove the sub is create a big blurry mess on your footage.

I just tried a small portion of the video as a test, and your right, just a big blurry mess. And thats only after the subs were there for a sec, kinda like the filter didnt pick up on the the subs untill they were there already. But thanks for letting me know how to use it.

  4. You can specifically tell it what frames you want to be affected, but again it will result in a blurry mess. Delogo really shines when removing static semi transparent logos that can be blended away without using the blurring feature. Otherwise it's better to just leave the footage as it is.
