  1. Hi,

I'm looking for a very simple tool. I'm recording some tv-programs, and i'd like to cut away some bits and parts like the adds and the stuff before and after what i've recorded. Then i'd like to recode them to divx. When I record my files, they are way to big. 1 hour recorded is something like 1,5G on my hard drive.

Can somebody tell me what tool I could use

    thx

For cutting out commercials and trimming bits and pieces of an mpeg file I recommend Videoredo. However, once you have made the cuts you will
still need software to convert to Divx. There is a lot to choose from, the 'tools' section of this site can help you find what you need.

  3. For cutting of mpeg - Cuttermaran, for cutting of avi - VirtualDub.
VirtualDub can be used also to reencode to DivX.
