  1. When i rip a dvd to vcd I'm using tmpegenc to encode, video from a vafapi-file and sound from a wav-file. But is there any way to actually "hear" the sound in tmpgenc to verify that it's in sync. now i always have to encode a small part to see if the audio is in sync.

  5. encoding for a little bit and stoping it doesn't hurt anything....that's probably the easiest and safest way to make sure you're audio isn't outta sync before u spend the entire night encoding it

  6. No real soloution as the demands of the sound and video come from north and south instructions from you CPU.

Some encodeing programs may play back or encode with audable sound, but it dos'nt meen its in sync.

Go with poopyheads's advice and do a small clip first then try it on your end format. I tend to trust what ever format I've used that works time and time again.

  7. But one movie that i encoded to vcd by using smartripper then dvd2avi and saved a projet-file. Did a vafapi-convertion and opened the wave and projekt-file in TMPGEnc. The audio was about 46(46550 ms) sec late. Isn't that very much? and it takes really long time to get it to sync if you should do a test-encoding over and over again before you get it right.

  8. hrm...a quick and easy way to get your rip 'N Sync if you know how much it is outta sync is to use the source range filter in tmpgenc

it has an audio skew option to get your audio 'N Sync (in milliseconds)

  9. Usally i check the audio in Virtualdub to see how much it's out of sync. Then i can use that value in TMPGEnc usually it's the same but sometimes there is a small differece between the progs.

Anyone knows a better/different way to do it??
