I read this post here.. https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=928566&highlight=remove+subtitles+avi#928566 I know from other posts that if the subtitles are hardcoded into the movie then they are stuck there. However, in the linked post, deadpac says that if they are not hardcoded you can remove them with vdub. I was just wondering how to tell if they are hardcoded and if they arent, what is the proccess to remove them. Thanks.

If you open it in VDub and still see the subs then they are hard coded. If you sinply remux the file with VDub then I am pretty sure that it would just leave the subtitle stream out.

Yeah I can still see them. Guess that means they're hard coded. Thanks. I hope that someone is working on a way to get rid of hardcoded subtitles. If someone put them there then they're must be a way to take them out...somehow...

What ever information was underneath them is gone. There is no real way to get it back. Putting them there is real easy. Think about removing some text from a single image, now think about doing that to 1,000's of images.
