I ask because I use my Pocket PC to watch videos. The program I use to see videos is Betaplayer and it has an option to jump to chapters.

I didn't think that beta player supported the .divx format? But I guess if you are already using it..

But yes it does support chapters, which you can add when you are creating your files via fuse.

Anyway, if you are willing to change containers it should support mkv or ogm, both of which support chapters fine. mp4 would be another option maybe.

No. It is a commandline app released by DivX Networks for creating DivX files with chapters, menu's, etc.

How are you creating your DivX files then if not via fuse? As far as I know it is the only app available.

Ahh, so you meant avi or ogm then? I believe they are the output formats of those apps. DivX as a format is something else. Basically some further hacks to avi. Although it is also a video codec that can be used in various containes.

Do either of those apps support importing chapter lists? If so enable creating them when decrypting with DVD Decrypter or create them afterwards with something like chapterxtractor (think that is the name). Then you should be able to output an ogm complete with chapters.

    Hi everyone!

Celtic druid, can you tell me how to add chapters using fuse?

I use fuse to mux xsub subtitles, but didnt knew about the chapter function

i think the divx container is the best container because it can be played back on any divx certified player and ogm or mkv can only be watched on the pc.

    thanks

No idea. However according to the DivX Labs page it is possible. I guess you need some kind of XML file.
