Hello,
i'm a registered user of svcd2dvd, a very beautiful tool... But i'm often using already complaint dvd mpeg files (352*576 -> Not reencoded) and many time of total process is spent to copy the mpeg original files in the _s2d intermediate files (in the some directory, CPU low and lot of I/O).
For the last step (_s2d to Video_ts) i'm using a directory on other disk and this step is very quick.
My question is:
is it possible to add a parameter to indicate a directory where place a _s2d temporary files? (Like work directory or similar...)
And another parameter (like check box) to delete temporary file at the end of the process...
Thank in advance!

The mpeg files are not being re-encoded, but are being merged to make one complete file before NAV packs are added in to make them DVD compatible.
And yes, it would be kinda cool to have the temp files deleted after the project is completed.Although there really aren't that many left behind, so
no real biggie for me. -
Well it is my intention to offer this option. For some keeping the _S2D files is important as they can be reused without the need for processing.

Yep, that is what I figured. They would be handy if a redo is needed. But what about theose large-ish .log files left over after the avis get converted?
Are those of any use, or could they "go away"?
Like I said no biggie either way - two clicks & they are gone! -
2 pass logs? Ok i will deleted those - never thought about that! Thanks.

Mmh, ok, but a 'temporary folder' parameter to indicate a folder where place _s2d files is possible? It is useful to separate work files and, in my situation, to read on one disk and write to another at full speed (i don't need to reencode..)
Thanks in advance! -
galps-
You are able to set your preferred assets folder, and your preferred DVD(output) folder now, allowing you to do exactly what you are asking for....no? Procees your project on one drive, output it onto another if you so wish. -
No.. I think a parameter to specify a folder for s2d files creation. Today this files is always created in the same source file directory.
So the first process is reading and writing in the same place (same disk -> slow process).
In the last step (Video_ts creation) i CAN indicate a personal folder (another disk) and the process is very quick. -
ah so, I see what you mean. Well, yes, then that would be nice to have a separate "working folder", apart from source & output folder.
whatcha think, CB???
