  1. Hi everyone.
Newbie here, so take it easy on me.

I have just started doing this vid editing stuff. I have been using TMPGEnc to convert some home movies. It works but it will starts up everytime with an memory error and sometimes it works and sometimes it just closes down. When it does work, I can not switch between / to other windows, have to keep it on top.

I have tried reinstalling it -- same.

Anyone else running XP and had this problem, let me know.

    Thanks
    Patrick

  2. I have actually posted this question before, the one reply I GOT WAS SO SCEPTICAL I'm beginning to think very few people in the Forum use XP. I have tried all versions of Tmpgenc including the latest no joy, so I e-mailed the site where Tmpgenc is most common, The response I got was they are looking into it. One other thing before I go, Ask yourself the question why is Tmpgenc not for sale? I'm sure I'll get a few smart alec replies for that.

I'm using Windows XP Pro with version 2 of TMPGenc. I have converted DV video and divx video to VCD MPEG1 without any problems.

What spec machine do you have?

  5. Just started happening today with the movie I am converting. TMPGEnc just closes at a certain point. AVI plays fine in media player though. Have done several movies before now with no problem. Haven't changed anything on my pc since the others were working either. Also running on XP. Someone help please.

  6. Found my problem. Had lost the last bit of audio in the avi file. Therefore when the audio ran out, but the video kept going, TMPGEnc was crashing. Don't know if that is anyone else's problem but thought I would share just in case.

  8. I'm using XP with no problems. Only sometimes TPMGEnc behaves sluggish, a restart of XP mostly solves that. Other programs function fine meanwhile.

  9. Hey jayace
Good to see you fixed it so fast. I wish that was my problem but my is an initial loading problem. I may try a fresh reload of the system this weekend.

Well, i know with the memory error all you have to do is increase your paging file (aka: swap). When splitting or merging files with tmgenc i have to increase my paging file to 4 gigs and then i get no probems.
