i was wondering if there was any software available to encrypt a home-made movie created with iDVD5. i want to be sure that the footage is not used without my permission, etc., or at least made difficult to re-use and re-edit on iMovie, FCP, etc.

    In iDVD, no.
    see here

For Encryption, you would have to step up
to DVDSP3 and format your project to DLT tape,
adn send it out to a mastering house to be mastered
(ie. commerically pressed). iDVD should be thought of in
terms of Home movies and free copies, not Professional movies
    and Encryption.

  3. If you had access to DVDSP 3 then you could select it to format for CSS-

But I have never used it. You should, however, master it to a DLT and send it to a replication house for burning. There are no current consumer burners that can master CSS DVDs.
