  1. I have been looking for a program/tool that will edit an already authored DVD menu. I recently purchased ATHF (vol3) and am combining the two discs onto one, (converting the DVD's to VCD-MPG's, importing into TDA with menu's so I can select episodes from the main menu).

What I want to do, is move the selections/buttons to a different location on the screen. (For example - if there are only two episode selections on one screen, I don't want them at the top left of the screen, I just want to move the selections so they are centered in the screen/menu.)

I have been looking through the forums/guides, but haven't found anything that applies to what I'm trying to do. Anybody know of a free/cheap menu editor that will work for what I'm trying to do?

  2. You can't import menus into TDA, so you'll have to create the menus yourself. TDA gives you lots of options for menu layouts and you can customise them.

Start by capturing a BMP of the original menu with DVD2AVI, then edit the BMP in Paintshop, to remove the old button. Import that BMP as a background into TDA, after you've selected a menu layout. Then hit the edit button and customise things. If you input that BMP with a WAV into TMPGenc, encode with the DVD template, the resulting MPG can be used in place of the BMP as your background. Then, enable motion menus and you'll have a musical background.

  3. I can change the background within TDA - that's not what I'm trying to do. I want to be able to edit the menu AFTER I've authored/compiled it in TDA - if that's even possible. Is there a way to edit the menu so that I can move buttons/selections around to a different location on the screen with TDA and then author/compile it?

  4. No, TDA is pretty limited as far as customization goes. The default positions cant be changed much or at all, and much of the default text is unchangeable as well.
There are some programs like pgcedit that allow for the editing of menus. These are great for disabling buttons or shrinking menus, but they don't let you move stuff around or change text and whatnot.
