Can anybody recommend any websites, books and/or programs that could help me build a nice website? I'm as noob as they come but I've got half (just half) a brain.I don't mind investing in a program if it will help me accomplish this fairly easily. Thanks!

Try www.coffeecup.com The edotior they have is both a visual editor (simialr to working with Word) and a text editor so you can manually insert the code.
It's the only thing I use. -

I use mainly for editing and modifying files. It highlights the important tags etc... The added bonus is you get upgrades ffor life, they've held to that part of the bargain so far. Not many companies have, they simply discontinued the name and packaged under a different title to avoid it.
