I recently had to reload Windows xp and now that I've finally loaded back everything I'm getting messages to say that it can't find a codec for my mpeg file. Can anyone point me to a good codec package or something?! Thanx.

free mpeg2 codecs:
GPL MPEG-1/2 Decoder
Stinkys MPEG2 Codec
Dscaler MPEG Filters
Or just install PowerDVD or WinDVD or some other dvd software player and you should be able to play mpeg2 with most players. -
I had similar problem on windows 98. It was the problem with the registry i had to fix it byretrieving last copy.

What Baldrick said.
XP doesn't come with a MPEG-2 codec. Copyrights or something.
You can install one of the players and uninstall it and the codec should remain if you don't want the player. Or use one of the free codecs. -
Thanx guyz. I'm working on it,but my monitor has just decided to pack up (borrowed my daughters for now) so that is taking up my spare time at the moment!
