  1. I am trying to convert all my Friends DVDs to DivX or Xvid. Which would be the best for it? I think i read somewhere Friends was filmed in non standard framerate or something. Anyone know if this is true? What settings would be ideal for this? My goal is one season per DVD and with all the bonuses and stuff on there too. Thanks for any help!

Why do you thinks it's a non-standard framerate ? What framerate is yours (or are you worrying over some unconfirmed internet rumour, in which case, shame on you) ?

I dont think you will be very happy with one season per dvd. I have various different shows on dvd, and the average episode in avi format is about 300-350meg(43-45 minute ep). To me the picture quality is decent, but not dvd quality(of course). So I end up with about 11-12 ep per disc, and an average season is 22 eps. My point being, that unless you are talking DL-DVD, your picture quality will be horrible. I would experiment with a file or two before you spend the time ripping a whole season.

Good thing you capitalized that otherwise its 'illegal'

Yes but when they televized it they converted it to 29.97 and you should keep it that way (not go back to the production framerate)
