Use an "Authoring" application to properly create your DVD.
There is a free Trial of Ulead's DVD MovieFactory -- ttry it to see if it does what you want...

You take your MPG or AVI which should already be at the proper resolution, conver any AVIs to MPG2 with TmPGenc or simmilar, drop the file into an authoring program, choose from the many, TDA is good to start will. Create menu and links and or chapters, test / preview, output either directly to disk ( risky ) or to ISO or AUDIO_TS / VIDEO_TS folders for later burning with Decrypter or Nero or whatever suits you.
This was a very generic answer because you did not provide enough detail.
Make believe you are writting up a police report for the dicks. EVERYTHING should be included no matter how insignificant it may seem to you. It will help to eliminate back and forth replies trying to pull new details with each repply. We do want to help,,, really!!No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD! -
hi jtoolman2000, i am a real beginners so sorry for me being dumb but i download the TmPGenc you told me about . I also downloaded all the program indicated in the user guide of TmPGenc on this site (GSPOT2,Virtual, Ac3Fix) it is quite complicated. To i need all that? I can not seem to use TmpGenc. I copy a movie an avi video, 697 mb. I saved it on my desktop. Now all i want is to burn it on a dvd using a external dvd burner (i have a laptop) LG on dvd-r and be able to read it from any dvd player but i always have a problem doing so. Can you be specific in your explaination how to do so and how to use tmpgenc. The program refused my avi document saying there were no support. thanks
