  1. I was wondering if there is a way to capture a streaming video from the internet? The video is not "live" or anything and I can fast forward and reverse as much as I want, so it's just a regular video.... but I can't figure out how to save it to my hard drive. The video uses Windows Media Player to open, and I think I have access to most all of the WMP options while the video is playing, but I can't find a save function. Also, is it possible to do this without a capture card? I sure would think so. I'm downloading it to view it... it's gotta save it somewhere.....

    P.S. Yes, I'm sure it's streaming video.

I've used Stoik Video Converter to good effect before.

I've got version 1.1 that's 137kb zipped - As opposed to the 7.33Mb for the latest version 2.1. It's freeware, so if you want the small version 1.1 just let me know and we'll arrange to get it over to you.

The latest version 2.1 is freeware, but buying a key unlocks editing functionality. I'm guessing that's why the filesize has ballooned to 7.33Mb.
There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

  4. Check your temporary internet files cache - it's probably already downloaded there

  6. It could be a DAT file in the cache, check temp internet files for the largest file there, I'll bet it's there. Move it from TIF & rename the extension .mpg - should be cool after that. That's how I got the Star Wars Ep III trailer.

I also use this and it works great. You can also opt for WMVCR to go with it.
