Is it possible to capture analogue via a Firewire card please?

I do it through my camcorder anologue in & out and then into my firewire card....
There may a anologue converter which has a firewire cable output... -
No, it's a digital input.
You can, of course, convert analog to digital with a exterior box or a camcorder with passthrough and feed that into a Firewire DV input. -

I don't like the USB solution overall. But that has nothing to do with USB itself, it has to do with the offering solutions that use the USB connection.
@devdeep: There are 2 ways to do this: Through a digital videocamera than has a video in and DV out or (a far better way) using special - for this task - devices, like Canopus 100/50/55 or Datavideo
Overall DV is great for NTSC and excellent for PALLa Linea by Osvaldo Cavandoli

Pinnacle makes a device called a Moviebox that can be purchased with either a USB or firewire output. You can input analog to it.
Tiger Direct sells refurbished ones for $99. Otherwise, I think they're around $150-$200, depending upon who sells them.
