  1. Hello, can anybody explain me the effects/differences of tue audio options in TMPGenc?

I want to know if I can optimize a 96 bit rate for audio and get good quality both in audio and in video for I can get a 1278 video bit rate having a very good looking VCD.

    Thanks for your comments.

My suggestion is to use a separate tool (toolame) in TMPGEnc to convert audio because TMPGEnc has very good quality for video, but its audio conversion is pretty poor.

You can find the free tool from the address:
    http://www.flexion.org/audio/toolame/

In TMPGEnc you go to "Environmental Settings" and sheet "External Tool". From there select "Layer-2" and locate the downloaded tool. Now, when you start converting it will use toolame for audio conversion. The audio parameters you can adjust from TMPGEnc - Settings - Audio. I can say that the quality is very good.

  3. Thanks Rise for your answer.

I forgot to mention that I already use Toolame for create the Audio part of the movie, found that the bes way is to process it appart and the mux it to the video part using the mux:// option in audio file for TMPGEnc.

However I still want to know if any of the options of toolame or even TMPGEnc will offer any benefit to the audio quality or what tool will be advisable to use.

    Thanks again.

  4. asnamlar,

96 audio bit isn't a very good pick. The best for audio is 192 and 224 bps. You might consider making XVCD. Which allows you to boost up your bitrate in video and audio. The quality will be better than your 1278 however, you'll first need to see if your player supports XVCD. Jordan
