I bought a Toshiba DR-2 Recorder back in September which I was very pleased with for the first few months. Since then, I notice there is a "hesitation" at certain intervals during playback of a recorded media from this unit.
I use ProDisc DVDs and have just ordered Taiyo Yuden 4x DVDs to try to see if this cures the hesitation problem.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Can I possibly have a setting wrong?
It's a fairly frequent occurance that is noticed more during a sporting event like hockey.
Amazon has agreed to take it back and refund my purchase price. I would like to replace it with something that is more reliable. What models would you all recommended for around $300??

It seems more like a media error. Try VERBATIM discs, the MCC AZO dyes seem to work better for stubborn DVD players.
