  1. I have seen answers to many audio sync issues in the forum but not to the problem I have. I have an Xvid file originally from an NSTC HDTV broadcast. When I play it on my pc hard drive there is no problem. But when I play a burned copy to DVD or CD on my Mustek PL407HM portable DVD player (MPEG4 compatable) plugged in to my PAL TV the audio starts off in sync but gradually drifts out of sync. Swapping between PAL and NSTC set-ups on the DVD player doesn’t resolve the issue. Playing the burned copy on my pc is ok.

I’d appreciate any ideas on what the problem might be and how to solve it?

  3. Thanks for the cunning plan, Baldrick. I'll give it a try tonight and let you know what happens.

  4. Followed the guide on the link but still out of sync. Don't know if the GSpot images are of any of use in diagnosing the problem. The first is the AVI before audio reprocessing - VBR:

and the second after processing to CBR:

Could it be anything to do with PAL versus NSTC?
