Dumb how to quote question

I'm an idiot- but how do you selectively quote with the highlighting when replying?

there is a quote icon to every topic of each post to the top right. Click that when replying.

Yeah but that selects the entire text. What if you just want part of the text? I can't get it to work when I just select the partial text I'd like to quote.

Just delete the part text you dont want.

Thanks waheed, I'll go to test but I've done that before and It won't display with the white highlight background. I'm doing something wrong.

Or just click on reply, and click on quote:



Type in your text and hit quote again, hit submit, the text should be highlighted when posted.
