  1. Heres my problem no matter what i use Nero CDRWin cdrdao it will not burn a cd in this elusive mode. heres the cue

    FILE "c:\cd.bin" BINARY
    TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
    FLAGS DCP
    INDEX 01 00:00:00
    TRACK 02 MODE2/2352
    FLAGS DCP
    INDEX 00 00:11:53
    INDEX 01 00:13:53
    INDEX 02 01:01:02

Is this not XA mode? however after bruning the cd it says its "CD-DA or CD-ROM" Im using vcdimager 0.7.11 Everything worked well for about 10 cd's then just stopped. No idea why. Any help would be appreciated

I create my own PSX games, which need to be XA Mode, and I use CDRWin 3.8 "File Backup and tool options" there I just drop the files and check on mode2 XA mode, and that does it for me.

  4. Where are you expecting it to say CD-XA? Windows will never identify a disc as specifically that type. I don't think I've ever seen any program identify a disc in specifically that way except at author time. In any case, what type of disc is it supposed to be. There are a lot of other possible reasons it doesn't play in your standalone.

  5. well using cdrdao it will say what it is for example if you use the cdrdao -disk-info option you get this.

    Recording Speed : n/a
    CD-R empty : no
    Toc Type : CD-DA or CD-ROM

Yes im aware there are many reasons it wont play in the standalone. however my method hasnt changed i make standard vcd's using tmpgenc's standard vcd plugin. create the image and chapters with tscv use cdrwin and or cdrdao to burn the image. whats wierd is everything worked well. after about 10 or so cd's (That say CD-ROM XA) it just stopped. for about 5 cd's then worked again. Now its topped yet again and the only difference i see in a working and non-working cd is that toc type. my standalone will do (S)VCD (S)XVCD mp3 audio and miniDVD as well as both cdr and cd-rw. Im really hoping its some kind of driver or codec that im not seeing.

  6. One other thing i might mention is that ive tried other avenues. Ive tried videopack 5 wich didnt work. however vcd creator does work. In fact its never produced a non functional disc however its very limited. so it must be some type of driver issue if one app works and another doesnt. I made a simple 10 minute vcd using vcdimager on a cdrw that didnt play. created the exact same one with vcd creator worked like a charm. it is odd indeed
