    Hello,

I cut a part of a dvd film, with this entry time 10.03.19 and this end time 15.38.12 = minuts.seconds.frames

I'd like to rip the subtitles just from this part and import them into Scenarist, but I can't figure out a way to do it. Is that possible?

    Thanks in advance

  2. Try Vobedit to demux the sub.
    Quality is my policy.

OK, I found a way changing the sst script to import the subs into Scenarist. That's to say I rip them all with subrip and then I delete in the script the ones I don't need. It's a workaround but the only way I can imagine now.

    - A workaround I'd say is the straightest path to achieve what you want!

You are right. I meant a roundabout. Thanks for the correction.

I didn't mean to correct your choice of words - rather just commenting on the fact that the method you used is the easiest way to do it!

One thing more I'd like to find is the way to cut scenes from different dvd films, join them with transition effects and then be able to put the subtitles to each different scene.
That sounds complicated because the software to author dvd with subtitles (Scenarist, Maestro) doesn't implement transitions and the nonlinear edition software (Premiere, Vegas, Pinnacle, Ulead) doesn't cope with subtitles (I think with Ulead you can create them but not to import them from a dvd).
So if I make a sort of clip with different scenes edited with Premiere for instance and them import the audio and video streams into Scenarist I don't think I could get the program to import the subtitles ripped from different dvds and put them all in the right scenes.

I see that kind of clips with cuts from different films in TV, when they make for instance an special about an actor or a director, and that kind of clips has transitions and subtitles and everything, but I'm suppose they have all the material on tapes and that's why is much easier and quicker to get the desired result
