  1. I have had no problems converting movies before but this particular one for some reason one file is okay then when I add another avi, thats 47 min long, it makes the audio 2hours! even though it detects the video to be 47minutes. And as you can imagine there is no audio if I try to play it in tmpgenc player. But when I open using media player classic. Its fine. Any1 have a clue as to why this is happening? Perhaps some codec error or something?

VBR MP3 audio, I presume? Fools TMPGEnc every time. Cure is to extract audio to wav using VirtualDub first, use AVI as video source, wav as audio source in TMPGEnc, encode as usual. Beware of sync problems tho. (=Encode just a few mins first, play and make sure A & V line up).

  3. thank mats. Can you help me out how I can do this with virtualdub please? To extract the audio? Also if it is a little out of sync, how can I correct it? Thanks.

Somewhere in TMPGEnc (not sure if this is available in Express) there's a audio delay setting that can be used to compensate. It's hard to find IIRC, but it's there.
Another way is to simply add some silence (or cut a snippet, depending on if the audio is ahead of or behind the video) at the start of the WAV audio to compensate. This is easily done in Goldwave.
(The above procedures are valid only if the audio is off by the same amount from start to finish)

    HTH!
