  1. how can i remove those cloudy effects in the video that i captured? especially in a little dark areas? i used virtualdub still, i am not satisfied with the result. also, what if there are many shakes in the video? is there a way to avoid them?

and i captured something from the tv, how can i improve the captured video?

i would like to create an effect similar to the movie "Alias" where multiple camera angles. as for me, i took a shot of the driver, then i took a shot of the road. here's the result http://karlo-1.tripod.com/angle.html

i would like it to have sound effects and cool background musics. what will i do?

and also, is there a capture program that will avoid dropped frames? currently, i captured that video from my analog video cam and used virtualdub, my compression is lossless jpeg. still, it eats 3 gb for 19 minutes of video. i can't use divx because the audio is not synchronized with the video. i am using windows xp pro sp2 pentium 3 700mhz, 320 mb ram, 64 mb video card.

and also, in addition, when capturing videos, i would like it to be compressed immediately using DivX. but the audio of the video is not synchronized. i tried every sync method in virtualdub and still, it dosen't work.

note: i have the latest DivX codec... I mean, I have a video editor, well, where can i get sound effects and background musics for free?

note: I am capturing via USB. Well, I must capture it, and it must be compressed. Because if I am going to use the uncompressed version, it will take up my hard drive's space. I only have 4 gb of space left...

  2. You need a bigger hard drive.
DivX is just far too slow to do realtime captures, stick with mjpeg or huffyuv (bigger drive needed badly!).
Drop the aspect ratio to avoid dropped frames. You could try VirtualVCR, which seems to do slightly better than virtualdub.

HuffYUV is slow in editing! I don't know why... The aspect ratio is ok. when I capture using PicVideo Motion JPEG 3 using lossless compression, it's good... it's a little sync. And which of the two is better, if I use RGB16 in capturing, the captured video is a little brighter than I420, L420, and YUV2. Although, it takes a little big space if I use RGB16. Can you recommend MJPEG codecs? Or do I need to use PicVideo Motion JPEG 3, use lossless, then convert it to DivX format to save disk space? When I use VirtualDubVCR, the only capturing is through VFW, well, I can't capture the audio. If I use the latest version of VirtualDUB, I see the DirectShow something, and my audio input is set to capture drive, so, I am able to capture the audio.

  4. Even Picvideo mjpeg is NOT lossless.
I don't know why you say VirtualVCR is VFW only, and I have no idea why you wouldn't be able to capture audio as well.
Are you sure the device works properly?
Why RGB16? Use YUV2 and filter it. Virtualdub will do that.
You say the aspect ratio is OK. How big is it? The larger it is, the more likely to get dropped frames, no matter what codec.
How fast is your hard drive?
Again...I would suggest getting another, faster hard drive for captures, before worrying about other stuff.

Yes, it works correctly. The default size of the video is 320x240 i am using a fujitsu hard drive...

@reboot: Correction: VirtualVCR is WDM only
Virtualdub is VFM only. Works with WDM because of warpers (vfm2wdm): Not always the best solution.

Use PicVIDEO at 19 if you can.
