Help!!
I wanted to rip a DVD as per instructions at http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdtovcd.htm.
When I put the DVD in the DVD-ROM drive and click on SmartRipper.exe, a window opens up with the following as it's content:
"ASPI-Adatper available
try to unlock drive...."
At the bottom of the window is the following (like a status): "analyse IFOs"
The cursor is a waiting cursor and my system freezes. Nothing happens and I have to reboot the computer.
Can someone point out what's happening and how to fix this?
Thanks a ton!

Thanks for the advice, I found out that if the DVD is kept in the drive after SmartRipper is started, it will work.
I did try playing the DVD before I started SmartRipper but my DVD player (DVDExpress) would cause the following error and wouldn't work: "Cdvdplay - This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down." When I pressed the details button, here is what follows:
"CDVDPLAY caused an invalid page fault in

Do you know what's causing this? I tried uninstalling DVDExpress and installed it again but no use.

DVDExpress is not the best piece of software ... and it gets very pissy when you install any other MPEG2 capable program (PowerDVD most notably). You can either uninstall it and use some other DVD player (theres a free one on almost all Warner Brothers DVDs, or buy a copy of WinDVD -- its well worth the price).

I say that PowerDVD & WinDVD are the kost relaible DVD Playing Software out there so i suugest you invest in one of those Players
