Need help figureing out an easy way to setup an aim proxy using Windows XP at home. It has to be an http proxy because thats the only ones I've ever seen work up here.

    Any software suggestions?

You have to be more specific. An AIM proxy to accomplish what ? Aha, are you firewalled, preventing you from running AIM?

Yes firewalled and can't run aim. We were using an open http proxy but it sucked and then went down. I figured I'd rather have my own then use another that may disappear.

    Do a search for "Socks5 +AIM"

You can create a Socks5 Proxy Server at home on your PC and connect to it from your AIM client at work. You should check that your ISP won't terminate you for doing this. Also, others will find the proxy after a few days and you might have unwanted traffic going to your machine at home.

Doesn't AOL have a web based AIM client? I think they do.

uhm... one of those links is about setting one up under linux, and the other 2 are about changing port numbers in the aim or trillian client which is can already do. Guess I'll keep looking.

  8. Try desproxy which is a TCP tunnel for HTTP proxies...

    http://desproxy.sourceforge.net/

The manual may give you an idea on how to set it up for AIM.

    Best of luck.
