    Hi

I know how to permanently add subtitles to an .avi using virtual dub. My problem is that my subtitles have foreign characters and those chars are shown as bizarre chars after processing. Is there a filter or something that would display the correct characters? Is there another procedure that maybe uses other software that can handle other characters than english language simple letters?

    Thank you

Unicode version of textsub(VSFilter) should handle them ok.

Thank you Druid, it works like a charm. Only problem is that the audio gets out of sunch when "burning" the subntitle in the avi file. I'm sure it's not because of the filter but I'm certainly doing something wrong with the other settings in vdub.

  5. Are you using a separate audio file or the original video file for audio.

the original file for both video and audio stream. For the audio I use "Direct stream copy" for the video I have no choice but to "Full processing" an dkeeping the original codec (Xvid) and original framerate.

  7. I was thinking when you use the original video for both, you run the risk of synch problems. Make a separate audio file and try to create a vidoe using the audio file and the original video.

How do I separate the video and audio streams?

  9. You can load the video into Gold Wave, then save it as a wave file. Then you will still have the original video file along with a new wave file.

If it was you would get a warning message though that you will get sync problems unless you re-encode.

If you want to directstream vbr mp3 audio, use VirtualDubMod, not the regular version.
