I've been using VirtualDub to merge two avi files, followed by WinAvi to convert them to DVD. Then CloneDVD 2, to burn the completed movie. And everyting plays fine in the preview screens of both WinAvi and Clone 2. But when i put the burned disk into my dvd player... the picture goes all green and the screen is full of little squares. But the sound plays fine. I also tried playing the burned dvd with my dvd rom drive via my computer using powerdvd. And it played completely fine... does anyone have any ideas what might be the cause of this problem. It's obvisously not poor media, as it would not play on my dvd drive if this was the case.

Could still be poor media. Your DVD-ROM drive will probably have better laser pickups than your standalone player.
It is more likely to be an incompatability between the media and the player. Have you used this media before ?Read my blog here.
